The Victory Demo Road Tour is Coming!

That's right, the tour is coming back! On Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16, the Victory Demo Road tour will be here at CyclePlaza for your riding pleasure. We would love to have anyone and everyone out to ride as many different Victory's as they like. Even if you are not currently in the market for a new bike, come out and ride one just to say that you did.

This ride was a journey out to Rockport via the Port Aransas Ferry. We had just shy of 100 people join us on this ride out to Poor Man's Country Club. I would like to thank everyone who attended and look foward to the next ride in November.

We are excited to announce the next CyclePlaza Ride!!

Please join on us on a nice and easy ride out to the small "fishing village" of Rockport, Texas. Get ready to cruise down the highway with both old & new riding buddies on a ride that will be a great time for everyone! Depending on the group number and the weather, we will have a few ride routes to choose from. Based on your preference, you can ride with the big group, or one of the smaller groups.

Just like always, the price to attend the ride is only $5!! With your paid entry, not only do you get a great ride, you will also receive a great meal at the Poor Man's Country Club in Rockport. Even better, if you sign up by September 18, 2010, you will also receive a free "Poor Man's Rockport Run" t-shirt. The ride t-shirts have become a popular representation of the CyclePlaza rides you have been a part of.

These rides are always open to anybody and everyone, no matter what you ride. Please join us on the "Poor Man's Rockport Run" group ride and spread the word to your family and friends!

The Summer Scorcher

This ride was HOT! We had just around 130 people join us for this ride and let me be the first to say that it was a blast. The outside temp gauge on my bike read 101 at one point and.... I was in the front of the pack! I can't even begin to imagine what it felt like in the middle or at the back of the pack. I would like to thank Bill and Shirley of the Swinney Switch Cafe for their food and hospitality. I would also like to thank Mrs. Bracey for the pictures taken from the overpass of the groups of bikes going down I-37. This ride was another huge success and I hope everyone had as good a time as I did. Thanks to all who attended, your presence makes it that much better. Please keep an eye out for next ride happening sometime in late September.

Sonic Blast to The Coast CyclePlaza Fun Run

This was our first ever CyclePlaza sponsored fun run. A special thanks goes out to Mike Stone of Sonic who helped organize and facilitate the stops of this ride. With just over 100 participants, the ride wasn't our biggest, but we did have some big winners. At the end of the ride, everyone met back at CyclePlaza for BBQ from Howard's BBQ and lots prizes.

Cruisin' to Cancun Spring Bike Awareness Ride

This ride was a HUGE success. While I don't have an exact count, I do believe that we had over 175 motorcycles show up for this ride. The CCPD did an excellent job of guiding us on the ride and keeping us safe. Because of everyone's support and the turnout that we had, all three news stations came out and got some video from the event. Thank you to everyone that participated! I would also like to thank Cancun Mexican restaraunt for hosting us after the ride and Mariachi Bandoleros for providing the music.

As always if you would like any of the pictures included in this loop, feel free to let us know. If you would like to be removed from the loop, we can also do that.

Victory Demo Road Tour - February 2010

This is the third time we have had the Victory truck down here and the turnout was great. We had over 50 people come out and ride some of the various models that Victory has to offer. The truck came down with everything from the Vision eightball to the new Cross Country.

A special thanks to Barry Hutchison, Ralph Leonard, and the Thunder Riders for helping us with this event. Without them I do not know if we could have ran as many demo rides as we did.

Frosty Fingers BBQ Ride - January 31, 2010

As nature would have it, this ride truly turned out to be a "Frosty Fingers" ride. With very low temperatures and a 60 mile ride, most of us were left with frozen and stiff fingers when we arrived at Rudy's. All together, the ride was a great success with over 110 riders braving the weather and enjoying the ride. We cruised out to Odem and down some country roads through the wind farm and on to Portland. From there it was just a short jaunt back across to the bridge to warm food and good times.

Thanks again to all who atttended and showed their support. The RUFF RYDERS and THUNDER RIDERS were also very helpful with this event and we cannot begin to say enough about each of those two riding clubs. If you are looking for a local riding club to join, be sure to check these two out!

Reindeer Rally - Friday, December 11, 2009

The Yamaha Sponsored Reindeer Rally happened on Friday, December 11, 2009. For the first time in over a decade, CyclePlaza altered their store hours to stay open until 9pm for late season Christmas shopping. Despite the bad weather (rain, wind, and cold temps) quite a few people came out enjoyed our special hours. We had food and music on hand as well as free pictures with Santa. After hours events are something that we have been tossing around for sometime and they will definitely be something to look foward to in the future.

Turkey Hangover Ride - Sunday, November 29, 2009

Our 1st ever CyclePlaza sponsored group ride. This ride was a route that took us around the bay, over the ferry and on to Padre Island Burger Co. We had just over 90 people signed up for the ride and 81 people made it. The weather was cool and fairly dry and the ride lasted just over an hour. We split the bikes into two groups, one for sport bikes and another for the cruisers.

Thanks to all who attended our first group ride. We learned quite a bit from this ride that will hopefully flow into the following rides to make them better and more enjoyable.

Cruisin' for a Cause Custom Bike Show

This was our second custom bike show hosted here at the dealership and it was a huge success. Over 40 different bikes competing for a multitude of prizes and awards. Together, we all raised close to $1,000 for Driscoll Children's Hospital and a ton of toys for the kids.

These events continue to be a great way for everyone to get together and give back to the community.
